PANTO stars at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre have been spotted out shopping in between rehearsals.

Sarah the Cook, one of the leading lights in the Dick Whittington production which launches next week, cut a distinctive figure as she popped into Cook, in Bath Road.

Her visit marked the launch of a partnership between the Bath Road Traders Association and the Everyman, designed to boost their respective profiles.

Lizzie Smith, chairman of the group and owner of Cook, said: "It makes good sense because Bath Road shops and the Everyman appeal to similar kinds of people.

"As part of our new partnership, we will provide party bags which will be given to children at the end of each production.

"And I know Bath Road will be mentioned in this year's pantomime so it will work both ways.

"This is only the start though and I'm sure there will be many other ways we can support each other in future."

The panto opens on November 30, running until January 13.
