MUSICIANS took centre stage at the Royal Albert Hall for a once-in-a-lifetime performance.
Hundreds of school children formed the Gloucestershire Massed Ensemble at the famous venue.
They starred in the last night of the Music for Youth Schools Prom, held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
A highlight in the music education calendar, it saw 3,000 young performers from across the UK descend on London.
This year, 27 Tewkesbury School pupils were among the Gloucestershire contingent.
A school spokeswoman said: "They were honoured to take part for the first time in the history of the school.
"The nervous pupils had spent several months preparing for the event, even attending Cheltenham Town Hall to rehearse with other schools.
"The evening contained a variety of music, from classical to current and was an exciting experience for the pupils involved, as well as the audience."
