Gloucester potter Michael Wasley missed out on a place in the quarter-finals of the Kay Suzanne Memorial Trophy this morning.
He was defeated four frames to one by Anthony Hamilton at the South West Snooker Academy in Quedgeley.
It was Wasley's first time in the last 16 of a tournament and he hopes it will be a breakthrough in his first season as a professional.
He flies out to Bulgaria tomorrow for the fourth round of the Betfair European Tour
The tournament was later won by John Higgins who beat Judd Trump 4-2 to take the £10,000 top prize.
