Police are hunting a rapist who attacked a woman in Gloucester city centre on Saturday.
The attack happened between 3am and 4am after the victim had walked from Liquid nightclub in Eastgate Street to the junction with Trier Way.
A man approached her and sat down next to her in a porch area on Trier Way before seriously sexually assaulting her. He then walked away in the direction of Gloucester Park.
The offender is described as black, aged between 20 and 30 and of medium build. He was wearing a white shirt.
Detective Inspector Ruth Mather said: "The victim is being given as much support as possible at the moment and we are carrying out a number of forensic, CCTV and house to house inquiries to identify this man.
"We don't want to alarm people but we would urge everyone to consider their personal safety when on a night out.
"Our advice, as ever, is to always choose well-lit routes and avoid alleyways or shortcuts.
"Just try to be aware of your surroundings and of anyone who may be acting suspiciously. Do not engage in conversations with strangers and if you are concerned for your safety then contact the police."
Anyone who witnessed the man in the area or has any information that could assist police are urged to call 101, quoting incident 230 of November 10.
