Police in the Forest of Dean are urging residents to remove valuable items from their cars after four thefts on a single night at the end of last week. A dark blue Kia Magentis in Tibberton Lane and a grey Vauxhall Zafira, silver Toyota Aygo and Toyota Yaris in Byfords Close were all targeted between 7pm on Friday, March 28 and 11am on Saturday, March 29. Untidy searches were made in all cases with items stolen from the Yaris and a satellite navigation system taken from the Kia. In that case, the offender also switched an interior light on and left it on, causing the car battery to run flat. Officers say that patrols in the area have been increased but want residents to take time to consider security and ensure they don't leave valuables in their vehicle overnight. Further crime reduction advice can be found at www.gloucestershire.police.uk Anyone with information about the offences mentioned should call 101, quoting incident 88 of March 29.
