Gloucester City's first round FA Cup tie against Leyton Orient has been postponed because of the waterlogged pitch at the Abbey Business Stadium in Cheltenham.
The game was due to kick off at 3pm today and will be rescheduled to a date yet to be confirmed.
Gloucester City's captain Tom Webb, a teacher at Chosen Hill School, said the players had been looking forward to playing in front of a big crowd.
He said: "It is incredibly frustrating for the players, but we are all so disappointed for the fans.
"The excitement had been building all week and everyone was looking forward to the game and expecting a big crowd.
"I know there were quite a few pupils from Chosen Hill and my old school at Beaufort were planning to go along, the support we've all had this week has been incredible and goes to show how people feel about the FA Cup.
"Hopefully the fans will turn out and stick with us for the postponed match.
"We had done all our preparation work and were in good shape.
"We were getting ready for the game and then heard it had been cancelled on Sky Sports news. It's a bit of an anti-climax after all the coverage the game had had this week."
