WEATHER experts have predicted today could be the last day of the heatwave that has been sweeping through the county.
The Met Office is expecting an overcast start to the morning, although the clouds are expected to break by mid morning.
Temperatures should reach a high of 30C (86F) in parts of the county, and lows of around 16C (60.8F).
The spell of sunny weather is set to come to a halt tomorrow, with yellow warnings of rain issued for the region.
Heavy rain showers are predicted by the afternoon tomorrow, with temperatures reaching a high of only 23C (73.4F).
The severe weather warning is in place until midnight on Wednesday.
A spokesman said: "During this period, all but some northwestern areas of the UK come under a much increased risk of seeing thunderstorms or longer spells of thundery rain, with some torrential downpours in places.
"The peak risk transfers northeastwards with time and will probably be clear of most southern and western areas of Britain by the start of Wednesday.
"The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption to travel, and more generally to summer holiday activities, due to (for example) surface water flooding."Latest Cheltenham weather forecastLatest Gloucester weather forecastLatest Stroud weather forecast
