STREAKER Daniel Butcher was only trying to raise money for charity when he ran buck naked through a cricket match. The 30-year-old security manager from Kingsholm, Gloucester, dashed across the pitch at Cheltenham College at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival yesterday. With temperatures soaring to around 30C (86F), Daniel peeled off his clothes and ran across the pitch during Worcestershire's second innings against Gloucestershire. He was dared to do it by good friend and Gloucestershire batsman Alex Gidman, winning a £100 bet which Daniel has now given to Cancer Research UK. They both went to Wycliffe College in Stonehouse and became firm friends. The former soldier with the 1Rifles said: "It was all for charity really. Alex bet I wouldn't do it, and I did. "It was all for a laugh and I donated the money to Cancer Research. It was for a good cause. "My dad has cancer, so I decided the money should go to Cancer Research.2 "I heard somebody say I was in my 40s, I'm only 30! It was nice to get a few hundred pounds out of it. "I've never streaked before, and I'm just a normal bloke. I knew some of the security guards there as well, so it was all quite funny. "I would do it again if there was a dare, and it was for charity, why not. It's all for a laugh anyway."
