RUGBY World Cup winner Mike Catt has met with Gloucester businesses in his role as an ambassador for Clydesdale Bank.

The former British and Irish Lion and current England coach was invited to Clydesdale Bank's Business and Private Banking Centre on Gloucester Business Park to meet with local businesses and members of the professional community.

The holder of 75 England caps took part in a Q&A covering a wide range of topics including the recent British and Irish Lions tour, his role as attacking skills coach for England and how the principles of strong sporting teams could be applied to business.

Rob Spearman, head of Clydesdale Bank in Gloucester, said: "We were delighted Mike could share his vast experience with our guests, and the timing was very apt with the Lions tour taking place.

"With the Rugby World Cup coming to Gloucester in 2015, Mike shared his thoughts on the impact the tournament will have on the region which only served to build excitement."

Mike later went on to lead a coaching session alongside former Great Britain rugby league player Keith Senior at St Peter's High School in the city, where he also answered questions and signed autographs.

The event marked the launch of the school's new Rugby Scholarship Programme in conjunction with the University of Gloucester.
