Detectives are now appealing for information after the 42-year-old was attacked near Trinity Church, in Trinity Lane, around 8.20pm last Wednesday. POLICE have charged a man in connection with the assault. Robert Jon Allen, 36, of Overton Road, Lansdown, appeared in Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning charged with causing grievous bodily harm. He entered no plea and has been remanded in custody until a date in Gloucester Crown Court on August 1. A second man has been released without charge.
