A CHORISTER turned award-winning wildlife filmmaker returned to The King's School on Thursday.
Gavin Thurston walked the corridors in Pitt Street once more for its speech day.
He was a pupil there from 1971 to 1981 and, aged 10, on a school trip took a picture of an Orca that sparked a lifelong love of wildlife and photography.
He went on to pursue the profession and has worked with David Attenborough, visited more than 80 countries and received BAFTA, EMMY and Royal Television Society awards.
He changed his filming schedule to be in Gloucester and said: "I am flattered and honoured to be asked to come and talk at The King's School Speech Day."
Headmaster, Alistair Macnaughton said: "I have watched much of Gavin's work with great enjoyment and sheer amazement at some of the things he has captured. To think it started because of taking a photo on a school trip is a great inspiration to our pupils."
