A DAD from Gloucester is urging people in the area to take on the challenge of fostering a child.
Research shows that at least 600 foster families are needed in the South West, and the charity Action for Children is urging dads to consider a career in foster care by looking after another's child as their own.
Chris Tingle, from the city opened up his home to two boys, both with learning disabilities, in 2006 and has never looked back.
He said: "Seeing the boys thrive in a family environment and watching them develop socially is very satisfying and the smile when they wake in the morning, knowing they are safe and cared for, is a very special thing."
