TODAY may be the longest day of the year, but hours of unbroken sunshine could be in short supply across Gloucester. Dawn has broken on the summer solstice and the days will get shorter from tomorrow, but it is not all doom and gloom on the weather front. After a cloudy start, with patches of hill fog and mist in places, the sun will begin to break through later this morning. It will warm up throughout the day with temperatures likely to reach 20C (68F)by noon. A risk of light showers remain in Gloucester this morning, with more chance of sunny spells into the afternoon, with light 12mph south westerly winds. It promises to be a dry night but rain will move in from the Atlantic in the early hours, with wind speeds picking up. Tomorrow will be cooler at 16C (61F) and more unsettled with more frequent outbreaks of rain, some showers will be heavy. That weather pattern will remain into Sunday before a more settled period of weather with warm sunny spells breaks on Monday. Latest Gloucestershire weather forecast
