HE'S best known as the grumpy star of hit TV show The Apprentice.
And true to his on-screen persona, Lord Alan 'You're fired' Sugar hardly cracked a smile when he was spotted enjoying lunch at Gloucester's Robert Raikes pub yesterday.
The star tucked into a king prawn starter followed by a steak and ale pie while chatting with business pals in the beer garden of the Southgate Street establishment.
He later tweeted: "I was in Gloucester today. Had to take my plane there for repair and hang around for a couple of hours. Went into the Docks. Very nice there."
City council apprentice Helen Kerr, 19, happened to be having lunch too. She bounded over to him for his autograph – and he obliged.
She said: "I was never going to see him again so I thought I might as well ask him. He wasn't so friendly – just like what you see on telly really.
"I was watching him the night before. He's amazing."
Another drinker, who also got his autograph, said: "He wasn't so friendly but he must get it all the time. He signed for my sister who will love it."
As he prepared to leave the pub, The Citizen asked him if he enjoyed his lunch. He said: "Yes, great thanks, I had the special of the day."
He posed for a picture with pub manager Phil Tandy. Phil said: "It was such an honour to have him here because there are plenty of other pubs he could have gone to."
Lord Sugar picked up a private hire taxi from Gloucester Docks to head to Gloucestershire Airport, at Staverton.
