TWO men have appeared in court in connection with the fire at Masjid-E-Noor mosque on Tuesday morning.
Clive Michael Ceronne, 37 and of Redwood Close in Gloucester and Ashley Henry Juggins, 20 and of Brooklyn Road in Cheltenham, were arrested on suspicion of torching the doors of the Muslim place of worship in Ryecroft Street, Gloucester.
They both appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates this morning charged with conspiracy to commit arson.
The court heard Ceronne, who previously worked in the security industry, is accused of driving to a petrol station in London Road, Gloucester, with Juggins and buying lager, vodka and a petrol can of fuel.
The men are then accused of driving to the mosque where one of them poured fuel around the door and set it alight.
Neither entered a plea both had their applications for bail rejected by District Judge Joti Bopa-Rai.
They were remanded in custody until their next hearing on July 19 at Gloucester Crown Court.
