Mike Bush enjoys small energy bills thanks to the work he has had done on his home.
Mike, 58, of Charlton Drive in Cheltenham, has a solar thermal system, triple glazing and an eco-friendly conservative at his 1930s detached house.
His property will be on display to the public this weekend as part of an open home weekend in the town.
Mike's passive solar conservatory extension is home to an indoor planting area which is irrigated by water butts.
He said his eco-project had been fairly costly because of the design and the specification he wanted but had experienced no problems with any of the technology installed.
Cheltenham Green Doors Open Weekend takes place on June 22 and 23 and features 15 homes in the town.
It is supported by the Gloucestershire Echo and Read Maurice estate agents.
