Legendary guitarist and songwriter Johnny Marr is to play a gig at Gloucester Guildhall.
Described by NME as a 'Godlike genius, unmistakeable wordsmith and legendary guitar player" Marr is perhaps best known for his time between 1982-87 with The Smiths.
As part of a major UK tour Marr will play the Gloucester gig on October 4.
After The Smiths he went to achieve critical acclaim with bands including The The and The Cribs as well as carving out a global reputation as a solo artist.
He is currently riding on the crest of a wave following the glowing reception which greeted his top 10 debut solo album 'The Messenger.'
Marr completed his debut solo tour in March which included two sold-out homecoming shows in Manchester and a rapturously received set at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.
After supporting The Stone Roses recently, Johnny Marr's international touring schedule includes numerous key festivals.
