THE financial gap between the north-south divide is widening.
A leading academic says the split between the two is more evident than ever as the south bounces back from the recession while the north struggles onwards.
The dividing line drawn by Sheffield University cuts through Gloucestershire, leaving the Forest of Dean in the north with Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle for company.
It's left those on the border questioning the university's Professor Danny Dorling's latest research.
"If they can't get their basic geography right, people are not likely to find it very convincing," said Forest of Dean MP Mark Harper.
