A CAR has been destroyed in a blaze despite firefighters' best efforts.
A crew from Gloucester was called to Conduit Street at 3.30am yesterday to reports of a car on fire on the junction with Regent Street.
On arrival, the crew used two hose reels and two sets of breathing apparatus to deal with the incident and put out the flames.
A Gloucestershire fire service spokesman said: "One crew from Gloucester was swiftly mobilised to the scene to deal with the incident, however, the car was left severely damaged.
"In total, the appliance was detained on the scene for 35 minutes."
