Local transport Charity Lydney Dial-A-Ride has officially moved premises, leaving behind their old offices at the Town Hall, to operate from the newly refurbished Lydney Bus Station.

Local MP Mark Harper officially opened the building last Friday, congratulating and praising the hard work and dedication of the friendly drivers. Dial-A-Ride manager Louise Currie commented on the move;

"Our hope is that we are now more accessible to those who need us the most. We have already noticed an increase of the public popping in to discuss their needs, and we welcome others who struggle with transport issues. Our aim is to help the public access the transport available to them in and around the Forest."

The official opening celebrated and thanked those involved in helping Dial-A-Ride achieve this great opportunity. A special mention must be made to the ladies of the Lydney Women's Institute, Lydney Community Centre, FVAF and The Friends of Bathurst Pool, who all gave their extensive time and effort in helping to execute this exciting day for the Charity, demonstrating a real community spirit!

The once run down eyesore of a building now has a new lease of life, making a welcoming impression on visitors to the town. The Bus Station now houses the Dial-A-Ride offices, alongside an inviting bright and friendly Charity shop which helps to support the service they provide
