HIGH-PROFILE Chinese officials are set to visit Gloucestershire this summer as they look for export and trade opportunities, according to a county expert.
Speaking after hosting an export seminar, Qing Lin, director of Chalford-based agency Join in China, said the Cotswolds and other parts of the county were increasingly catching the attention of big names in the emerging superpower.
The seminar, called Join in Hong King and China, took place at HSBC offices on Waterwells Business Park in Gloucester.
Qing said: "In the summer, we will be getting more high-profile Chinese visits. They are here to see the countryside, delicious local produce and fantastic scenery."
Business people from around the county attended the seminar, which included talks from Andy Willett, area commercial director at HSBC; Gloucester MP Richard Graham and Russell Brown, chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in China.
Join in China works closely with Cotswold Tourism and GFirst Local Enterprise Partnership.
