FIREFIGHTERS were kept busy, tackling two blazes on Saturday.
The first incident was a building fire in Highnam at about 4.45am.
It had started in a kitchen at a property off the A40 and spread to a lean-to outbuilding.
A total of 10 firefighters attended the scene, using two hose reels and breathing apparatus. They stopped it spreading further.
At 5.35pm, crews were called to a grass fire on Robinswood Hill.
They used beaters and an off-duty ranger assisted them with a water bowser to extinguish the fire.
They spent two hours and 30 minutes at the incident.
It is not clear how it started.
