A 27-year-old Cheltenham mum is undergoing rare treatment for thyroid cancer that means she cannot cuddle or kiss her children because she is radioactive.
The iodine treatment Emma Day has had means she will have to stay at least two metres from her six-year-old daughter and one-year-old twins because any contact could cause them lasting harm.
Last week, Emma went into an isolation unit at Cheltenham General Hospital with only her mobile phone and a landline for company.
She was discharged from hospital on Friday after a quick improvement but cannot get close to her children for the next three weeks.
