A BOYHOOD hobby has turned into a career for two friends who have opened their own tropical fish shop.
Daniel Sylvester, 31, and James Bowers, 28, have launched specialist rare fish store Trust Tropicals in Albion Street, Cheltenham.
They have both been fascinated by fish since childhood, a hobby which started for Daniel when his grandfather Fred bought him a tank.
"My granddad, Fred Johnson, got me into it when I was 10," said Daniel, who lives in Charlton Kings.
"He always had tanks. He got me a tank and showed me what to. It's a hobby which turned into a career."
Daniel and James, from Chalford, had been keeping and selling tropical fish in Daniel's mum's garage in Chalford, and his success led to him and James enrolling on a Prince's Trust business course in Gloucester.
