RARE film footage from the 1940s will be screened on June 1.
The two films are from 1948 and 1949 and capture the Longford Carnival and Show on camera.
The two 20-minute films will be shown from 11.30am in St Michael's Tower.
They were going to be screened by the Gloucester Civic Trust last year but extensive editing of them has now taken place.
Back in the 1940s Longford had its own festival and carnival queen.
Caught on film is rare footage of Hal Bagwell, a lightweight boxer born and bred in Gloucester, who for 10 years remained undefeated.
There's also film footage of a motor cycle football match, dog shows and exhibitions of dogs jumping over hoops and hurdles, stalls and fancy dress.
The films are thought to have been created by Dr Lewis who at that time was an eminent plastic surgeon at Gloucester Royal Infirmary.
The Civic Trust is trying to find out more information on Dr Lewis.
Tickets to the screening will cost £1.
The event is on Saturday, June 1, not this Saturday as incorrectly reported this week.
