'Holiday feel' to third Gloucester Night Market

NEW shoppers and traders flocked to Gloucester's third Night Market and praised it for bringing the city centre to life with a 'holiday feel'.

Gloucester Brewery was there for the first time and Duncan Illsey, manning the stall. said: "It's brilliant as it's driving people into the city centre. A lot of people have been tasting the beers for the first time."

The market kicked off at 5pm on Friday with stalls lining King's Square.

Sarah Farley, 31, was there to promote her new gift business The Fairies Workshop.

The Longlevens mum said: "It's a really good event and is nice and busy. I'm really pleased how many items I've sold."

Sue Spencer, from Abbeymead, said: "It's nice to see the city busy in the evening."

Longlevens resident Lorraine Wheeler, 31, was there with her family and said: "It's something a bit different and almost feels like you are not in Gloucester but on holiday somewhere."

Karen Roche-Galvin, 29, of Cheltenham, was one of the people who performed on the stage with the Oficina da Capoiera group.

"I think Cheltenham would do well to have something like this, " she said.
