BROCKWORTH councillor Robert Vines has been chosen to lead the authority in Tewkesbury.
Mr Vines, the Conservative borough councillor for Badgeworth, has been given the go-ahead to carry on in the top political position at Tewkesbury Borough Council.
Mr Vines also represents Brockworth on Gloucestershire County Council.
His deputy will continue to be Councillor Allen Keyte (C, Oxenton Hill) after the pair were re-elected at a full council meeting.
Mr Vines said: "I am honoured to have once again been given this vote of confidence by my fellow councillors.
"Over the next year, my overall priority will be to ensure that we continue to support our residents and businesses, and provide services that are not only effective but also good value for money.
"The difficult economic times are set to continue, which means it is more important than ever for councillors to work together and ensure the very best is delivered for the people in our borough."
