PEOPLE in Tewkesbury borough are being reminded they can recycle their energy-saving light bulbs at special rbanks.

Tewkesbury Borough Council's recycling scheme is the most expansive in the county, but due to the range of materials used in light bulbs, they cannot be recycled in residents' blue bins.

To avoid sending redundant light bulbs to landfill, the council has teamed up with recycling firm Recolight to provide five public on-street recycling sites around the borough. They are at:

■ Bishop's Cleeve (in the Tesco recycling centre)

■ Brockworth (in the Tesco recycling centre)

■ Churchdown (parish council office car park)

■ Tewkesbury (Morrisons recycling centre)

■ Winchcombe (Back Lane car park

A council spokesman said the banks had been placed in popular spots so they could be easily accessed when people went shopping.
