Young people can boost their chances of finding a career in theatre by taking a respected course at Cheltenham's Parabola Arts Centre.
The Gold Arts Award gives 16-25 year olds the opportunity to gain experience by immersing themselves in the world of theatre.
Five successful applicants will earn a nationally recognised qualification that will help them to choose a path into the sector.
Parabola Arts Centre Manager Christina Poulton said: "It's a very practical course in which the students will be working with experienced professionals to choose their own project.
"They will build hands-on experience in areas like tour management and marketing campaigns, by shadowing experts in those fields.
"The great thing about this project is that it isn't playing theatre or pretending to be producers, it's all real life."
The first part of the project is developing a personal arts practice, which gives participants the chance to develop skills such as acting, directing and stage managing.
A second stage gives students the opportunity to create, plan and run their own theatre arts project to achieve a public outcome.
This could mean setting up a theatre company, running drama sessions in school or managing a festival.
Expert mentors will help the participants build a portfolio that may take the form of a diary, video, blog or even slideshow.
Initial meetings will take place this summer, with regular sessions taking place between September 2013 and March 2014.
The award is ideal for drama students, graduates, gap year students and those who are seeking a career in theatre.
There are no entry requirements, but a clear and demonstrable passion for and a commitment to arts is a must.
Download a form from www.parabolaartscentre.co.uk/gold to apply for entry before the deadline of June 5.
