THOUSANDS of pounds of counterfeit clothing has been seized by trading standards officers.
Gloucestershire County Council's Trading Standards team confiscated counterfeit items worth £10,000 from traders at Stow Fair.
It comes a day after officers seized knives and pellet guns sold by rogue traders at Stow Horse Fair.
Working with police, officers confiscated fake products branded as Superdry, Gucci, Versace, D&G, Burberry, Chanel, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Lacoste, Ugg, Beats, Adidas, Paul and Shark and Bulgari.
They also found bags of fake Ugg and Adidas labels.
A Trading Standards spokesman said that, although it was evident the presence of officers at previous Stow Fairs had significantly reduced the number of traders selling fake goods, a small number still took the chance.
Eddie Coventry, head of Trading Standards, said: "These counterfeit goods don't contribute anything to businesses or buyers.
"They are cheap products being sold at a premium because of the fake branding. And legitimate businesses lose out to unfair and illegal competition.
"Our message to traders is do not bring counterfeit products to Gloucestershire unless you want to have them taken from you and are willing to risk prosecution."
The bust was carried out by officers on Thursday. Illegal knives and BB guns were discovered at Stow Horse Fair on Wednesday morning.
The weapons were destined for sale by "rogue traders", according to the newly-appointed Gloucestershire police and crime commissioner Martin Surl.
He said that the crackdown was reducing long-term tensions between the travelling fraternity and the community. Officers also attended the Stow Fair in October, when they seized a quantity of fake goods.
A number of traders at the fair this week told officers they were pleased to see Trading Standards continuing to take action against sellers of illegal products.
However, Walter Henry, co-owner of the field where it takes place, criticised Trading Standards for being "heavy-handed" in their investigation.
