FIRST birthday celebrations are planned for the Tranzform charity shop in Stroud.

A successful 12 months at The Door Youth Project, at the top of the town's High Street, has seen some substantial funds raised for the good cause.

Tranzform has also been a success in other ways, the project's chief executive Brendan Conboy said. He said: "Volunteers are being trained back into the workforce.

"It has provided a box office and promotion for the charity's events and the children's department has allowed parents to browse safety while their young ones play."

Birthday cakes are planned for the celebration on Saturday, when there will be a tombola, lucky dip and 20% off everything in the store for the day.

"A big thanks for local people's support," Mr Conboy added.
