A BARN containing around 30 tonnes of baled hay went up in flames in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters remained at Evenlode at around 9am trying to battle the blaze, which is believed to have left a barn and farm outbuilding in ruin.
Police are also on scene this morning and have closed the unclassified road between Evenlode and Moreton-in-Marsh.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident just after 1.30am when members of the public reported seeing a blaze in the vicinity of Evenlode.
Firefighting crews were called from Moreton-in-Marsh along with two appliances from Stow-on-the-Wold.
A spokesman for the service said: "Three appliances attended the incident which involved a barn, a farm outbuilding and approximately 30 tonnes of baled hay.
"They used three jets and a thermal image camera at the scene."
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed the road was closed this morning and the fire service are still on scene.
He said he expected firefighters to remain in attendance until later today.
Pictures of the blaze can be e-mailed to laura.churchill@glosmedia.co.uk.
