Liberal democrats are calling for an all party approach for the leadership of Gloucestershire County Council.
Thursday's election saw no party take a majority and control of the council.
As talks of coalitions take place, the Lib Dems have finished internal discussions and want to see a cross party approach going forward.
Councillor Jeremy Hilton, group leader, said this afternoon: "We have agreed that an all party administration would be the right way to ensure that the wishes and concerns of the county's residents can be met.
"The Liberal Democrat group believe that delivery of quality services to the public is of paramount importance.
"Residents rightly expect all politicians to work together constructively to provide strong and stable governance that takes account of their views."
The political parties will have until May 15 to work out how to go forward.
