AN impasse over the installation of teenage play facilities by Forest Green Rovers FC has been given a kick start by the threat of enforcement action.
For the past eight years land earmarked for a multi use games area has lain disused at the far end of the football club's car park.
The unsightly plot became a magnet for dog walkers and fouling so FGR then tidied it up for use as overspill car parking, club chairman Dale Vince said.
He said: "The land is still available for a MUGA. We inherited this situation.
"It has become a bit of an impasse. There is £90,000 sitting in a bank account somewhere for the MUGA and we wish someone would get on and do it."
Staff in planning at Stroud District Council recently said the land should not be used for any other purpose than open space and recommended enforcement action against the new bit of car park.
Lawyers from both sides are now expected to negotiate to get the MUGA, which is wanted for the community by Nailsworth Town Council, installed.
