PUPILS from Archway School joined the celebrations to mark Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey.
A group of nine pupils were among the 1,000 young people present at the Observance, which launched the 2013 Commonwealth theme Opportunity through Enterprise.
The youngsters won their tickets in the Commonwealth Essay Competition which explored innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.
The Duke of Edinburgh was there and speakers included Sir Richard Branson. Singer Beverley Knight and pop band The Noisettes performed.
Caroline Palmer, Archway's lead teacher for the project, said: "This was a unique and rare opportunity for our students to experience and share in such a prestigious and traditional occasion."
