AS more than 6,000 pupils across the county get settled into school for the first time, those arriving at The Catholic School of Saint Gregory The Great in Cheltenham have been meeting their new classmates.
Sixty children aged four have joined classes at St Gregory's in Knapp Road, Cheltenham.
The new pupils are split into two new classes – Gretton and Chadworth. They are currently at school for half-a-day only.
Rachel Penney, the school's foundation stage leader, said: "They have settled in really well and all seem very happy.
"One of the biggest challenges for the new pupils is the new routine, but they are very adaptable and are really getting into it well."
Mrs Penney teaches the Gretton class, with the help of assistant Lisa Powell, while Amy Batsford looks after the Chedworth class with assistant Leigharna Heath.
The children have already dressed up as Oompa-Loompas as part of Roald Dahl day.
This year 6,671 children will be joining reception classes across the county.
