As part of the City Council Big City Clean campaign, officers will be working with volunteers to clean up part of Matson on Wednesday 24th April from 10am to 1pm.
They will be joined by volunteers from Matson and Robinswood Community Partnership, the Redwell Centre, Probation Service Pay-Back Team, Gloucester City Homes and the Gateway Project.
Local residents can also join on the day, equipment will be provided, but those attending are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear and to bring gloves if possible.
Ross Cook, Group Manager for Services and Neighbourhoods, Gloucester City Council said: "Days like these are a great opportunity for residents to come together and tackle anti social behaviour, such as fly tipping and littering, head on.
"These cleanup days not only help tidy an area up in the short term, but also build pride, and makes people realise how they can make a positive impact on their community." |
The volunteers will help to give a feeling of Spring to residents of Caledonian Road leading to Sneedems Green as they will be offering residents a planter containing herbs, vegetables and flowers.
The planters show how well the community can work together as they have been supplied by The Matson and Robinswood Community Partnership, decorated by The Butterfly Garden and planted-up by local volunteers from the Redwell Centre.
