CINDERFORD

Graham Morgan – Labour
Graham is married, with two grown-up sons, and has lived all his life in Cinderford, where he has been proud to represent the people as a town, district and county councillor, with an active interest in all community affairs. He believes that a strong local voice from someone who knows our area is absolutely essential.

He has been at the forefront of regeneration in the area, working hard to secure funding to give our children a better future. Graham has been an active member of HOOF, campaigning to keep the beautiful forest in public ownership, and understands that any development must be balanced with the protection of our unique environment.

Graham is asking for your support to give him the chance to represent you and continue this work.

Aaron Freeman – Conservative
Aaron Freeman has lived in the Forest of Dean all of his life, attending local schools and the Royal Forest of Dean College, before completing a degree at the University of Gloucestershire. He runs his own business, based at Longhope. He enjoys working with local communities and is keen to represent local points of view at the county council.

Aaron said: "The Forest of Dean is a brilliant place to live, but there is scope for improvement. We need better transport links and faster broadband speed to help sustain the local economy and enable our hard working community to prosper. I care about building a sustainable future and believe increase recycling will help. I hope to work closely with the people of Cinderford to boost local jobs and drive regeneration."

Heather Dalziel – Lib Dem
Heather Dalziel and her husband Robin have lived in Ruspidge for over 30 years. Their sons, Andrew and Stuart, attended St White's School, Heywood School and the Royal Forest of Dean College.

Heather works from home as an analyst programmer.

She is an experienced councillor. She represented the district council ward of Littledean and Ruspidge until 2011 and was a member of several important committees. Heather has been an active member of Ruspidge and Soudley Parish Council for 23 years.

She is a member of the management committee for C.A.N.D.I., the young people's drop-in centre in Cinderford.

Heather chairs the Ruspidge Memorial Hall Committee and is a member of the local playing fields committee.

Ann Guyton – UKIP
Ann Guyton is a certified accountant living in the Forest of Dean, married to Colin.

She is committed to supporting local police in their efforts to combat petty crime and anti-social behaviour.

Ann said: "We must free the police from form filling and get them on the streets.

"Overhaul the system to make sentences meaningful and rehabilitate offenders back into the community, properly."

Sid Phelps - Green
Sid has recently moved back to the Forest where he grew up after leaving some 30 years ago, in more enlightened times to benefit from an state-funded university education. Sid built a career in environmental protection, helped to nurture his family and was a green city councillor for four years.

With his children now grown up, he has moved back "home" and established a new business supporting tourism in the Forest. Living in Buckshaft and recently being co-opted onto the Ruspidge & Soudley parish council, Sid is keen to live the old green maxim: "Think globally, Act locally".

He said: "With so many pressures on ordinary families and so much rhetoric spoken by so many politicians, we all have a duty to look out for each other. This will be even more important as climate chaos and the world shortage of oil begins to bite into everyone's life in the coming years."

Claude Mickelson - Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts
Candidate did not submit a profile.

BLAKENEY & BREAM

Zoe Forbes – Lib Dem
Zoe Forbes has worked in the higher education sector for many years, and now works for the body responsible for safeguarding standards in universities and colleges. She is a mother of two young children and has served as a councillor before, in Cheltenham. Zoe has campaigned on the retention of children's' inpatient care in Cheltenham General Hospital, and has served on the Board of Cheltenham Festivals.

Zoe said: "I feel strongly that our primary schools are the first step in encouraging children who should eventually be going on to higher education. I also believe it's important to have working mothers on the council - I think we should be represented by people who understand the importance to families of services like education, libraries, youth and early years services."

Bill Evans – Labour
Bill lives in Clearwell and has a long history of active campaigning and community involvement. First elected as a councillor in 2004, he is district councillor for the Bream ward and parish councillor for Newland. Passionate, determined and diligent, he enjoys working hard for the community. A school governor, he is keen to support young people; he has recently been instrumental in refurbishing a play area and is supporting local families to establish a youth club.

Bill fought against the sell-off of the beloved forest. He has campaigned for road safety improvements, and consistently opposed the imposition of car parking charges. He has been active in fighting to retain precious local library facilities. Bill prides himself on responding quickly and thoughtfully to people in their hour of need.

Diana Edwards –  Conservative
My background is in marketing, management consultancy and the retail sector for 14 years. I sold my business in 2007 which is when I was elected to the Forest of Dean District Council. Since then, I have devoted myself to my role as district councillor for Newnham and Westbury and my responsibilities as a member of the FODDC Cabinet. I am fiercely loyal and passionate when it comes to our area and becoming a county councillor would enable me to champion the needs and aspirations of the Forest of Dean at county level.

Becoming a county councillor is not a role for the faint hearted, it is a role for a person with a strong track record, committed to doing a good job; I have that reputation. At county we can work to achieve the best outcomes.

Richard Leppington – UKIP
Richard Leppington lives and works in the Forest of Dean, running his own business, and is well known for his voluntary work with local sports clubs.

Married to Sandra, Richard is also Chairman of UKIP Forest of Dean.

Richard said: "Stop the 'gravy train' by reducing council executive pay, councillor's allowances and unnecessary departments doing politically correct things like diversity monitoring. Keep the council to their statutory responsibilities only."
