GLOUCESTER will give Dario Chistolini every chance to be fit to face Saracens this weekend – to offset a growing front-row injury and absentee list.
Tighthead prop Chistolini was knocked out cold against Sale on Friday night, copping a heavy bang to the face in trying to bring down teak-tough centre Sam Tuitupou.
The Italy A cap recovered quickly after the game, despite fairly prominent swelling to his cheek.
But he will have to pass standard concussion testing before he is able to return to Cherry and Whites action.
Chistolini will sit the cognitive reasoning test at some point this week then, in a bid for the green light to take on Saracens at Kingsholm on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
Rupert Harden is out for the season, while Shaun Knight's knee tendon problem means he remains a doubt for this weekend.
Add Chistolini to that list and Gloucester would turn to Yann Thomas and Tom Heard to cover tighthead.
Highly-rated Academy prop Heard was meant to play in Cinderford's National League One clash at Ealing on Saturday.
But Gloucester pulled him out late on Friday night, as a precautionary measure following Chistolini's injury.
