A MOTORIST died in a car crash in Fairford last night.
Gloucestershire Police closed the A417 London Road after the crash which happened shortly before 9pm yesterday.
A red Hyundai Accent left the road and hit a tree.
The 27-year-old driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, believed to be from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
The emergency services shut the road for six hours while they worked at the scene, reopening it in the early hours of this morning.
Gloucestershire Police is now appealing for any witnesses who have not spoken to officers to come forward.
