Tens of thousands of pounds have been stolen from a Quedgeley bank after thieves blew up a cash machine.
The machine at HSBC was broken into at midnight last night using a 'controlled explosion'.
Police won't say exactly how much was taken but cash machines can hold up to £100,000 usually.
A spokesman has confirmed that the amount was 'tens of thousands'.
Three men were seen running from the bank and a light coloured Audi is believed to have been used as the getaway vehicle.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Bean said: "I would appeal to anyone in the area who may have seen this car or anyone acting suspiciously beforehand.
"We are aware of other incidents like this across the country and are exploring if there are any links to those cases.

It isn't the first time that the branch at the Olympus Centre has run into trouble.
Robbers wearing balaclavas ram-raided the bank in September last year stealing around £100,000 cash.
Three members of staff were working at the time of that raid, which sent shockwaves through the community.
