IN AN unforgettable Grand National, full of Gloucestershire owners, trainers and jockeys, a Scot was first past the post.
Auroras Encore, trained by Sue Smith and ridden by Ryan Mania, won the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree, today at 66-1.

Robert Waley-Cohen, chairman of Cheltenham Racecourse, saw his horse, Oscar Time, come in fourth.

Those with their cash on Cappa Bleu and Teaforthree in an each-way bet were quids in with the horses finishing second and third.

Forty horses started the four-mile, three-furlong, 110-yard race at Aintree this afternoon.
All recovered safe and sound from the race.
