Nigel Twiston-Davies' popular chaser Little Josh sustained fatal injuries at Aintree today.
The 11-year-old broke a shoulder in a fall in the John Smith's Topham Chase and was put down.
Twiston-Davies' jockey son Sam, preparing to ride Imperial Commander in today's Grand National, escaped without serious injury and rode in the next race.
