A ROAD in the centre of Cheltenham collapsed this morning.
Gloucestershire Highways is working with Severn Trent water to repair a collapse in the road in Montpellier Terrace.
The road is reduced to a single lane, after Gloucestershire Highways cordoned off a five metre squared area of the road.
The collapsed area of road is a square metre, with a cavity underneath the road of four metres by two metres, after damage was caused by a burst Severn Trent Water pipe last month.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire County Council said: "Gloucestershire Highways is working with Severn Trent to get the road repaired as soon as possible."
