A 20-year-old Gloucester partygoer was stabbed last night and has suffered 'potentially life changing' injuries.
The young man was stabbed in the back while attending a 16th birthday party at around 11.20pm.
Police are appealing for information following the disorder at Riverside Sports and Leisure Club, at St Oswalds Road, in Gloucester.
The man initially refused treatment by paramedics from South West Ambulance Service but was later taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Insp Joseph Tierney, from Gloucestershire Constabulary, said: "He initially refused treatment but was taken in eventually after being persuaded to do so."
In the early hours of this morning, Saturday March 30, officers investigating the incident arrested a 20-year old man from Gloucester on suspicion of wounding. He currently remains in police custody.
Investigating officers are eager to speak to anyone that attended the party or was in the area at around 11pm.
No one from the club was available on Saturday to discuss the incident.
