The weather once again played havoc with the Cheltenham League, sponsored by Bristol Street Motors Ford Cheltenham, with just two games surviving the wintery blast.
In Division 1 Gloucester Elmleaze beat Tewkesbury Town 4-3 whilst Whaddon United Reserves shared the spoils with Tivoli Rovers in a 1-1 draw in Division 3.
Division 6 leaders Hatherley FC face two games in five days which could go a long way to shaping whether they take the title. On Saturday they face FC Barometric III followed by Cheltenham Civil Service IVs on Wednesday. All three teams are in contention for the title and by next weekend the picture could be much clearer.
Division 5 leaders Newlands Athletic still have eight games left top play and are being run very close by Pittville United. Both teams are in action this weekend and know that they need to keep winning to keep the pressure on their rivals.
Bottom club Winchcombe Town III face Hesters Way United this weekend. United, who will be missing the suspended Rich Webb, are capable of beating any team on their day and will provide Town with a stern test.
With leaders Charlton Rovers Reserves not in action this week, Priors have the opportunity to take top spot in Division 4 on goal difference if they win their two games this week and increase their goal difference by more than three.
Priors are undefeated in the league this season and with six games in hand on the leaders they remain favorites for the title.
FC Lakeside are in the driving seat in Division 3, winning all but one of their fifteen league games. Whilst second placed Village Real managed to hold the leaders to a draw they still trail them by three points having played two more games.
Lakeside have three games in the next six days and still have eleven league games left to play. Real will be hoping that the fixture congestion will see their rivals slip up.
The battle at the top and bottom of Division 2 will potentially both go to the wire as teams fight for the title and against the drop.
Gala Wilton Reserves are in prime place at the top of the table. They travel to Brockworth Albion Reserves who need points for very different reason Albion sit two points off the bottom of the table and will be hoping to beat the form book and give themselves some space from bottom club Winchcombe Town Reserves.
Bibury have four games left to protect a six point lead at the top of Division 1. They start their run in this week at Northway. With a superior goal difference over second placed Charlton Rovers, victory for Bibury will take them a giant step towards the title.
Bottom club Apperley & Tewkesbury Dynamos are eleven points adrift at the bottom of the table. Whilst they still have eight games left they face a real challenge to avoid the drop. This week they have two games, both against highflying AC Olympia.
