TWO Gloucestershire tourism businesses are in the running for national awards.
The Corinium Museum in Cirencester is shortlisted for small visitor attraction of the year while Gloucester Tourist Information Centre could become visitor information provider of the year.
Some 18 of the 67 finalists in the VisitEngland awards were from the south west – making it a record year for the region.
The final will take place at an awards ceremony in Manchester on May 20.
Chairman of the south west judging panel, Alistair Handyside, said: "Having finalists in the VisitEngland National Tourism Awards is a brilliant result for the south west, and will help maintain our position as the country's number one holiday destination."
