Three Parliamentary hopefuls will battle to be chosen to try and win Gloucester back for Labour.
The party announced a shortlist of three this afternoon - David Purchase, Sophy Gardner and Keir Dhillon.
Mr Purchase was Labour MP Parmjit Dhanda's assistant until the party lost the Gloucester seat in 2010 after nine years.
Former Tewkesbury parliamentary candidate Mr Dhillon, is an IT worker from Churchdown, and Ms Gardner is a former RAF wing commander.
Gloucester is in the Labour Party's list of 106 seats key to winning power, ranked 38th.
Stroud is ranked 16th, where former MP David Drew has been selected as prospective parliamentary candidate.
The shortlisting will be followed by interviews, a hustings before party members on April 20, and a vote.
