Ideas to improve village

YOUTH shelters and outdoor gyms have been suggested as ideas for Bishop's Cleeve.

Residents have put forward the proposals as part of the parish council's Caterpillar community plan.

The authority has been asking villagers for their thoughts since November 2011.

It will give the residents the chance to have an input into the facilities, resources and development in the village.

Councillors wanted to ensure they had ideas on how to use Section 106 money from the three housing developments going up in the area – Homelands One and Two, and Cleevelands.

A spokesman for the authority said: "The parish council is already working towards completing some of the priorities identified by the residents, such as installing youth shelters and outdoor gym equipment in its playing fields in Nottingham Road and additional seating and pathways within the playing fields using funding available from new housing developments.

"Once all the responses have been collated we will be inviting members of the public, community groups, other agencies and partners to work with us on developing a medium-term plan to deliver more of the priorities identified by the public."
