BOUNCERS have been assaulted in a drunken brawl in Cheltenham.
Police rushed to the Bank House on Friday after the Gold Cup celebrations. And the pub was forced to close its doors for 35 minutes to bring order to its venue.
Two doorman and a manager at the JD Wetherspoon premises, in Clarence Street, were assaulted in the fight.
Paramedics treated a woman for injuries to her face after she was punched.
Earlier that evening, a number of men had been requested to leave the pub by door staff because they were "intoxicated".
But they refused to leave and a fight broke out.
Eddie Gershon, spokesman for JD Wetherspoon, said: "We can confirm that an incident occurred at The Bank House in Cheltenham, where two of the door-staff and a shift manager were assaulted, and a brawl escalated in the doorway of the pub.
"Several people got involved and the pub was advised by police to close up and empty the pub, while the situation was brought under control.
"The pub was closed at 9.45pm and re-opened at 10.20pm.
"The Bank House is an extremely well run pub and fortunately situations like this are very rare indeed." A total of thirteen arrests were made in Cheltenham during race week, Gloucestershire police said.
Throughout the week, Cheltenham council officers worked with businesses in the town in an effort to reduce the risk of danger to the public amid the influx of thousands of people.
Louis Krog, the authority's business support and licensing team leader, said: "We undertook daily premises inspections, we had dedicated officers working with the police until the early hours, additional daily patrols, and had staff assisting the police in the CCTV control room every night."
â A 47-year-old man from Solihull and a 47-year-old man from Birmingham were arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident.
A 34-year-old man from Birmingham was also arrested on suspicion of affray, assault and supply of a class A drug.
They were bailed until April 29.
